Effluent and Oil Spill Transport Projects - Overview

Simulation of a hypothetical oil spill in the Snohomish River estuary

Hydrodynamics generated from the Salish Sea Model can be used to track particle movement, informing oil spill trajectories and contaminant circulation. The model can be optimized for surface transport in the case of floating objects or surface oil spills, or optimized to track 3D circulation for contaminants.
